MISSIONARY TESTIMONIAL: “From among the 2,000 volunteers that have worked among the Quichua Indians in Ecudor in the past 3 years, the church planter trainers and volunteer evangelists from World-Wide Church Planters have led the pack in their evangelistic zeal and practical training. They come well prepared spiritually and
practically, and ready to tackle the task of opening new works in a variety of settings. They have my support and an open door anytime they can come to work with the Quichua in Ecuador.”The passion of World-Wide Church Planters is that all of the Church is needed to help win the world to Jesus Christ. It is impossible for International Mission Board missionaries and other evangelical missionaries to win the world. Everyone must work together to help them or global evangelism will remain the unfinished task.
The International Mission Board met in February of 2004 for its annual meeting at the Missionary Learning Center in Virginia. At the same time, the Fellowship of Baptist World Ministries (of which WWCP is a member) was meeting at the site for its semi-annual meeting. Dr. Jerry Rankin, President of the Board, addressed the Fellowship and told our group that now more than ever, the IMB was depending on the use of volunteer groups as a part of its global strategy. Dr. Rankin stressed to us the importance of IMB missionaries partnering with Fellowship of Baptist World Ministry groups to plant new churches and win people to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Many churches of all sizes have worked with WWCP and have discovered a simple yet effective way to accomplish their Great Commission goals. One church can actually be the catalyst for new church starts. For instance, the First Baptist Church of Cottage Hill, Florida, has initiated 30 new church starts in southern Moldova and over 30 new churches west of Manaus, Brazil along the Amazon. One church is responsible for initiating all of these new churches! Additionally, this type of church planting and evangelism has an impact on the individuals and their churches in the States as they understand by experience the joy of obedience to Jesus’ command to “go.”
